Villa NN – Moedling, Lower Austria, Austria

The renovation encompassed the ground floor and basement of a villa on the outskirts of Vienna, inhabited by two generations.
The apartment on the ground floor was extended to include the basement, where bedrooms for the children and an office for the parents were established. The new entrance to the house was relocated to the basement, with the route from the entrance via the newly installed staircase to the ground floor being a celebration of connective furniture elements. Coat rack, mirror, shelves, compartments, horizontal lighting strips and bookshelves accompany the occupier on route from one level to the next. The stairway is integrated into the elements. Books can be selected whilst ascending or descending past the shelves. This furniture element is integrated into the newly designed living and dining room. It therefore connects the two different living spaces on both storeys.
